Self Care with a Paper Planner

Taking care of yourself is the most important thing if you want to be effective in life. As they tell you on the airplane; put your mask on before you try to assist others.

How can you use your planner to practice self-care?
  1. Journaling - use the notes areas (or even the time slots) as an area to journal your thoughts. The act of writing helps with emotional release and can help reduce stress.
  2. Create Habits - keep track of daily habits and work on getting better every day. What is it you want to improve in your life? Focus on it every day. 
  3. Practice Gratitude - take time to write what you are grateful for. The focus on gratitude will elevate your daily thoughts. Imagine that you only had tomorrow what you were thankful for today. 
  4. Plan on Paper - Get clear on your priorities, write down your goals, and practice project management. All of these things can help you avoid overwhelm.
  5. Schedule Downtime - I often say that if it is not written down in my planner then it is not going to happen; this includes rest. Schedule time to just be present.
